Skin Disorders

Description

Skin Disorders encompass non-melanoma cancer, eczema types of autoimmune issues, and other causes of inflammation.

Non-melanoma skin cancers are one of the most common cancers diagnosed, with easy diagnosis and treatment. Treatment includes tools to shave off the cancerous tissue, using a topical electrical current to stop bleeding and zapping the remaining cancer cells.

Eczema, also called dermatitis depicts a group of non-contagious, inflammatory, typically itchy skin conditions including atopic dermatitis and irritant or allergic contact dermatitis. Treatment is to remove irritation and reduce immune response with topical or oral corticosteroids.

Symptoms

  • Skin irritations
  • Irregular spots
  • Rash
  • Itching
  • Swelling
  • Redness
  • Pain
  • Sometimes blister formation

How Cannabis Can Help

CB1 and CB2 receptors, cannabinoids, and anandamide have diverse mechanisms underlying non-melanoma skin cancer pathologies. All three compounds (WIN-55,212-2, JWH-133, and AEA) were tested successfully against skin cancer cells in vitro (cell cultures). 3 Terpenes: Limonene, β-caryophyllene and phytol showed potential efficacy in the lab. Preclinical research shows activating CB2 skin receptors are anti-inflammatory, lessens itching, and have anti-microbial benefits.
